At Orca Bay Coffee we are very choosy about the quality of our coffee. We are also very focused on providing support to our customers and selling our coffees at a fair price. That's what we are about: quality, consistency and fair prices.

News and Updates

May 7, 2008

A word about prices. It seems like the cost of everything is going up. Coffee is not immune to inflation and is sold as a commodity. Just like oil, speculators can drive up the prices and since last August, the prices for green coffee has gone up. Prices seemed to have peaked in late January but they have not come down enough to avoid a price increase. In addition to the increase in the cost of coffee are the prices for fuel - both for the roaster and for shipping. Packaging has also increased by 12% since last year.

So, reluctantly Orca Bay has to up prices. Effective May 15, 2008 all prices will increase. Expect to pay another dollar per pound. We still sell by the pound while other coffee companies sell 12 ounce bags of coffee. Their prices equate to $13 - $15 per pound.

We still maintain the freshness and quality you have grown to love. As always, we are humbled by the support and complements you continue to give us.

Thanks!
